Delores Thompson is an experienced educator and leader with over 33 years of service in the Cayman Islands education system. She holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Studies from Walden University, a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from the University of Central Florida, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership from the University of London, Institute of Education.
Her career began at John Gray High School, where she spent 19 years as a Business Teacher, Examinations Officer, and Deputy Principal. She later served at the Department of Education Services as Community Liaison Officer and Head of Testing and Exams, before moving to the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre, where she rose from Deputy Director to Director.
After retiring from government service in 2021, Delores transitioned into early childhood education. She now serves as Preschool Director at NCVO Miss Nadine’s Preschool, where she is dedicated to building strong foundations for young learners. A passionate advocate for equity and she is the current President of the Cayman Islands Early Childhood Assocation and believes that every child deserves access to high-quality education and the opportunity to thrive, regardless of background or ability.
